Meet Luke

Luke Orlando

Luke Orlando is a fifth-generation Texan with deep roots in the Pearland community. His mother, Sara, was the child of a Korean War vet and his entrepreneur bride, who together founded a family business that Sara has managed successfully for nearly three decades. Luke’s dad, Mike, was born to a Houston Police Officer and a bus driver with a beauty shop. He paid his way through college where he met the love of his life, Sara. From birth, Luke was surrounded by people with tremendous grit and a deep spirit of service.

Luke’s passion for political service began in first grade when he insisted on staying up until 3am on Election Night to “make sure all of the states were colored in.” By fourth grade, he played George Bush in his school’s mock election and in eighth grade, when his political interests came up against his family’s budget, he began flipping burgers at the Pearland Little League concession stand to attend political conferences across the country. During his senior year, his Congressman offered him an internship in his district office, where every day he helped solve the challenges facing people in our community.

Luke studied Finance and Government at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was active in several business organizations and Big Brothers, Big Sisters. From 2013 to 2015, he served on Representative Ed Thompson’s staff at the Texas Capitol and managed his 2018 reelection campaign.

After graduating, Luke was hired by a management consulting firm, where he uses a fresh perspective and data-driven strategy to help companies across a wide range of industries solve complex business problems.

“From birth, Luke was surrounded by people with tremendous grit and a deep spirit of service."
